Today BEIS issued a consultation on SMIP Change Request CR-077 proposing changes to the Great Britain Companion Specification (GBCS) v3.1.
CR-077 proposes to uplift SEC Schedule 9 – GBCS v3.1 with the inclusion of BEIS Issue Resolution Proposals (IRP) IRP569 and IRP595. This will create a new GBCS v3.2. Consequential changes to the Schedule 11 – Technical Specification Applicability Tables are also proposed.
As GBCS v3.1 has never been used in production devices, it is proposed all content will be removed from that specification when GBCS v3.2 is designated.
The uplift will incorporate all currently known BEIS led technical documentation changes, ensuring that the Technical Specifications and GBCS are finalised for DCC to implement in the next available release in 2019.
