About: Join SECAS, the User CIO and the Security and Privacy Validation experts for an overview of the Security and Privacy assessment process, including sharing valuable tips and advice to help you prepare for your annual assessments.

SEC Change Webinar – MP253 ‘Traffic Management – User Actions Required’: 15 November 2023

This webinar was held by SECAS and took a deeper dive into MP253 ‘Traffic Management – User Actions Required’. This modification was raised to look at how we can manage specific events which can result in a high-volume traffic event occurring within the DCC System, such as regular price changes required to Smart Meters.

This session covered:

  • The background to the issue
  • The solution options ahead
  • The potential impacts for Parties
  • The proposed timeline for implementation

Transition to 4G: 7 November, 11-12pm

This webinar had SECAS and the Communications Transition Group (CTG) Chair, Jason Stevens cover an intro to the CTG and its purpose, an overview of the plan to transition to a 4G solution, what this means for SEC Parties and how to get involved. This session answered questions including: 

  • Why move to a 4G solution?

Alternative Home Area Network (Alt HAN): Why it matters to you: 13 June 2023

This webinar covered Alt HAN, what it does and how it works with Suppliers to provide more consumers with the benefits of Smart Metering.

This gave a valuable overview of the Alt HAN and its products and services in one hour. The speakers covered:

Triage Facilities Workshop: 31 May 2023

SECAS and the User CIO hosted a workshop for Triage Facilities interested in undertaking security assessments to Triage SMETS2 devices in accordance with the guidelines detailed in the Triage Security Controls Framework.

This session included a presentation and Q&A session covering:

  • An introduction to the SECAS and User CIO teams
  • How to book in your initial Triage Security Assessment
  • What to expect from a typical Triage Security Assessment
  • An overview of the Smart Energy Code Section G where it applies to Triage Facility Providers
  • Additional questions from potential Triage Facility Providers
