Latest update
This modification was implemented on 29 November 2019 as part of the November 2019 SEC Release.
What is the issue?
This modification seeks to amend the existing conditions in the Smart Meter Inventory (SMI) so that Communication Hub devices listed under ‘Pending’ are not removed from the inventory. Due to the delays in the SMETS 2 rollout programme, an estimated 20,000 devices may be removed from the SMI by November 2018 if the requirements are left unchanged.
What is the solution?
This modification proposes to increase the time period before removal from the SMI configurable so that it may be changed in future with greater ease, and changing the current value from 12 months to 36 months.
Who is impacted?
Large Suppliers
Small Suppliers
