On 1 Sept 2023, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) issued a consultation inviting responses from Smart Metering Implementation Programme stakeholders on proposed changes to the DCC Licence and the main body of the Smart Energy Code to support the provision of a 4G communications service by the DCC in the central and south regions of Great Britain.
In parallel, the DCC is consulting on changes to SEC Subsidiary Documents, including the introduction of a new Subsidiary Document (the Network Evolution Transition and Migration Approach Document) to support 4G service provision. The DCC is requesting comments on those changes by 29 September 2023.
