DCC MHHS Network Capacity Planning online briefing – Thursday 24 November at 10:00

10 November 2022

In April 2021, Ofgem wrote to the DCC to request it raise a SEC modification (MP162 ‘SEC changes required to deliver MHHS’) implementing the required settlement-related changes to support market-wide half-hourly settlement (MHHS). That modification included increased system capacity demands to support half-hourly data, and the introduction of a new Meter Data Retriever (MDR) role.

In September 2022, a decision was taken to separate out additional MHHS capacity demands from MP162, to allow that modification to focus on and deliver the technical implementation of the new MDR role. In line with its Licence Conditions and the agreed business case, Ofgem directed the DCC to undertake additional analysis to identify and plan for the delivery of the system capacity needed to deliver against the MHHS target operating model (TOM), and to provide a recommendation of the most suitable approach and the associated costs.

The DCC is hosting an online briefing at 10:00 on Thursday 24 November 2022 to provide stakeholders with an update on the delivery of increased system capacity to support half-hourly data, including a summary of responses to the recent Ofgem request for information (RFI).

The DCC will publish a detailed agenda in advance of the briefing, but please register your interest to attend by contacting customerengagement@smartdcc.co.uk. The DCC will then forward you a Microsoft Teams invitation.
