November 2021 SEC Release

SECMP0007 implementation approach

The SEC changes and Data Services Provider (DSP) elements for SECMP0007 will be implemented on 4 November 2021 (November 2021 SEC Release). The DCC and SECAS are proposing that the Communication Services Provider (CSP) system changes be delivered in the June 2022 SEC Release with the subsequent Communications Hub firmware updates being made as soon as they are available. The DCC is consulting on this approach with the industry before asking the Panel to endorse it.

Please note that Prepayment Meter Interface Devices (PPMIDs) and Home Area Network (HAN) Connected Auxiliary Load Control Switches (HCALCSs) can only be updated over-the-air (OTA) once the associated Communications Hub has its firmware updated to reflect the SECMP0007 solution.  These updates will be rolled out following the June 2022 SEC Release as soon as they become available.

Change to the SECMP0007 CTSD implementation date

On 25 March 2021, the SEC Panel wrote to the Authority requesting to change the implementation date of the SEC Appendix R ‘Common Test Scenarios Document’ (CTSD) legal text under SECMP0007 ‘Firmware updates to IHDs and PPMIDs’. The Authority approved this request on 1 April 2021 and the SECMP0007 CTSD legal text will now be implemented on 24 June 2021 (June 2021 SEC Release). The SEC Release Implementation Document covering the modifications targeted for inclusion in this release is available below. This document was last updated on 22 October 2021 following MP149 falling out of scope.

Provided below is a table of documents published to support the Technical Specifications for the November 2021 SEC Release. This includes mark-up, commentary identifying the modification and, where applicable, the Issue Resolution Proposal (IRP) the changes came from.

These documents reflect the approval of SECMP0007, MP090, MP105, MP150, MP158, MP164 as well as CRP613 and CRP649. We don’t expect any further modifications to be added to the scope of this release and therefore these Technical Specifications.
