Dear SEC Parties,
On 28 April 2026, Ofgem issued its notice of decision on modifications to industry codes to implement a harmonised code modification prioritisation process.
Pursuant to Schedule 12 of the Energy Act 2023, Ofgem has made consequential changes to the Smart Energy Code (SEC) to be implemented today, 29 May 2026.
SEC v136.0 is going live to reflect the changes to the following documents –
• SEC Section A ‘Definitions and Interpretations’
• SEC Section D ‘Modification Process’
Marked-up versions of the affected documents can be found on the SEC website.
You can download clean versions of the individual SEC documents from the SEC and Supporting Documents section of our website or via CodeWorks.
