The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) issued a designation that was effective from the 17 September 2020. This is to support the Data Communications Company’s (DCC’s) Smart Metering Equipment Specifications 1 (SMETS1) service and the smart metering rollout more generally. These changes were incorporated into the SEC on 18 September 2020.
