What is the issue?
An error has been identified in the SEC Section G 'Security' which compromises the security of the smart metering system. The section needs to be amended so that it can differentiate between obligations relating to the Communications Hub Function and the Gas Proxy Function (GPF) for Smart metering equipment Technical Specifications (SMETS) 1 and SMETS2+ Devices.
What is the solution?
The Proposed Solution is to amend SEC Section G3.20. This way the SEC will be able to distinguish between who has security obligations on SMETS1 and SMETS2+ Devices using a Communications Hub Function or a Gas Proxy Function (GPF).
