This is the January 2025 Issues Group meeting where we will be discussing the below new issues:
- Install Codes in the SMI – Where sites are changing Supplier it is often the case the gaining Supplier cannot complete the Commissioning activity as they do not have the Install Codes to do so. This requires them to first identify this is the problem and then establish who the Installing Supplier is to request, manually, the Install Codes. With the huge amount of focus on ‘non-operating’ meters and Smart Meters Not Operated In Smart Mode (SMNOSM) upon Suppliers, it is clear work is needed to establish the best way forward to allow the gaining (non-installing) Supplier to be able to commission the devices. Suggestions have been made to put the Install code into the Smart Metering Inventory (SMI) to allow them to be obtained without the need to manually contact the Installing Supplier. It is recognised any change to the SMI is a Data Service Provider (DSP) change so likely to be impossible to justify the costs, but this issue has been identified as a problem under the SMNOSM work and supported by DESNZ.
- Panel paper classifications – The Panel Information Policy (PIP) sets out the confidential classification of meeting papers and slides. People that do not attend the meeting have limited access to anything not ‘CLEAR’. Minutes are also not available.
- CPA Scheme transition to SSC – The procurement of the CPA Scheme Operator requires powers bestowed upon the SSC by Appendix AV to be transferred into the SEC as an enduring solution.
