DESNZ presented a high-level plan to transition the Smart Metering Implementation Programme (SMIP) to the SEC Panel at its August 2024 SEC Panel meeting.
The plan outlines the vision for the end state of SMIP and details activities to establish enduring governance. It includes exit criteria for SMIP, Ofgem, and the wider energy industry, specifying the functions and responsibilities that must be fulfilled before any functions or activities can conclude or transfer.
