The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has today, 10 July 2026, published a conclusions document on its consultation on SEC changes relating to VWAN, issued on the 13 May 2026. The original consultation can be found on the website.
In light of responses to the consultation, DESNZ is further consulting on one aspect of the proposed changes.

Responses to the questions set out in the consultation (and associated reasons) should be submitted to smartmetering@energysecurity.gov.uk by 17:00 on 21 August 2026.
The changes being made as a consequence of the conclusions document will shortly be laid in Parliament in accordance with the procedure set out under Section 89 of the 2003 Energy Act.
