On 18 June 2025 DESNZ laid an instrument before Parliament – alongside an Explanatory Memorandum which are expected to introduce Licence and main-body SEC changes in September 2025. The changes reflect the conclusion of recent consultations as follows:
- On 16 June 2025, DESNZ issued a response (and the associated legal drafting) to their consultation issued on 23 April 2025 on changes to the supplier Licences, DCC Licence and the main-body of the SEC to enable the provision of Virtual WAN Arrangements; and
- On 30 May 2025, DESNZ issued a response (and associated legal drafting) to their consultation issued on 31 March 2025 on changes to the main-body of the SEC to extend the 4G communications services to the north Geographical Region of Great Britain.
