On the 8 June 2023, changes to Energy Supplier licences were made. On 8 June 2023 the Minister for Energy Efficiency and Green Finance signed these changes into force after they had been laid before Parliament for 40 days in accordance with the requirements of Section 89 of the 2008 Energy Act. Background to the changes and the documents laid before Parliament can be found here.

The changes relate to:

  • Security and Smart Metering Key Infrastructure (SMKI)
  • Enduring Change of Supplier (ECoS) arrangements
  • Optionality for assuring proposed DCC procurements in the future
  • Completion of Implementation (CoI)
  • DCC Network Evolution arrangements (including 4G Communications Hubs & Networks).
