The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has published a consultation on the proposal to add a sub-section to one of the documents that will be in Schedule 8 of the Smart Energy Code (SEC) – GB Companion Specification (GBCS) v4.1, that is to be implemented for the November 2021 SEC Release. The proposed changes address an operational issue affecting some Energy Suppliers involving the re-joining of the same Gas Metering Equipment.
The changes are of a technical nature and are described in detail within the consultation with the aid of two Change Resolution Proposals (CRPs), namely: CRP613; and CRP649. Both CRPs have been considered and agreed by the specialist Technical Specification Issue Resolution Subgroup (TSIRS).
To respond to the consultation, please answer the consultation questions in the covering letter and send them to smartmetering@beis.gov.uk by 12pm on 27 August 2021.
