On 29 July 2022, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) issued a consultation on amending the replacement obligation for Smart Metering Equipment Technical Specifications (SMETS)1 Devices not enrolled with the Data and Communication Company (DCC).
The consultation proposes a revised date for the SMETS1 replacement obligation.

Comments on these proposals should be submitted by 5pm on 26 August 2022 to: smartmetering@beis.gov.uk
