SEC Parties

To be involved in Smart Metering as a Supplier or Network Operator in Great Britain you must abide by the Smart Energy Code (SEC). Any other bodies who wish to use the Data Communications Company’s (DCC) Services to be involved in Smart Metering, must also follow the SEC. Any organisation that accedes to the SEC is known as a SEC Party.

The benefits of being a SEC Party include the ability to propose and feed into Modifications and Proposals that impact the SEC. You will also be eligible to apply for vacant seats on the SEC Panel and Sub-Committees, which consist of representatives from various stakeholders across the Smart Metering Industry. The SEC Panel ensures the efficient practice of the SEC and as a member you can voice your opinions and suggest improvements within the SEC framework.

Being a part of the SEC will ultimately give you the responsibility and opportunity to shape the fast-evolving landscape of Smart Energy!
