What is the issue?
Addition of Device Serial Number in the Smart Metering Inventory to enable mapping between data held in the DCC systems, and industry dataflows.
What is the solution?
SECMP0004 proposes to extend the scope of the SMI and to capture the DSN for each Gas and Electricity Smart Meter. This will allow suppliers to map the data held in the legacy systems and the SMI.
To ensure that the SMI becomes a reliable mapping tool, when pre-notifying Gas and Electricity Smart Meters, Users will be required to include the associated DSN. Suppliers will also be required to ensure that each Gas and Electricity Smart Meter pre-notified to the SMI before the implementation of SECMP0004 has its associated DSN populated in the SMI.
