This modification was withdrawn by the Proposer on 19 October 2018.
What is the issue?
SMETS1 Unique Transaction Reference Numbers (UTRNs) can be used for a number of functions beyond adding credit, which currently is the only use for UTRNs on a SMETS2 meter. The Proposer believes this functionality is vital for ensuring that customers benefiting from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) price cap can continue to do so once a SMETS2 meter is installed. Without this functionality, suppliers may not be able to ensure that SMETS2 customers are in line with other prepayment customers without costly engineer visits to site.
What is the solution?
This Modification Proposal seeks to increase the UTRN functionality associated to a UTRN for SMETS2 Devices.
