SEC designation implemented

13 March 2020

An updated version of the SEC came into effect on 13 March 2020 to implement a designation by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

Approval of SMETS1 DMC onto the EPCL for DCC SMETS1 services

On 13 March 2020, BEIS approved the first Morrisons Data Services (MDS) Device Model Combination (DMC) onto the Eligible Product Combination List (EPCL).

The release is scheduled for 20:00 on Saturday 14 March 2020.

This new Data Communications Company (DCC) functionality will enable the migration of these devices into the DCC System and use of Smart Metering Equipment Technical Specifications 1 (SMETS1) services by DCC Users. In doing so this will allow Energy Suppliers to bring back Smart Services for those customers who have lost them and enable them to retain services on Change of Supplier.
