An electronic General Meeting of Smart Energy Code Company (SECCo) Ltd was held on Monday 20 December at 1pm, to facilitate a vote on the change of SECCo Auditor from RSM UK to Gerald Edelman.
RSM UK had advised SECCo that it no longer wishes to continue as the auditors for SECCo for commercial reasons, and the SECCo Board therefore requested the SECAS Finance team to obtain quotes from three alternative audit firms. Gerald Edelman was selected as a reputable, competitively priced and appropriately sized firm to act as SECCo Auditor. Gerald Edelman has experience of auditing small and medium sized entities and Gemserv, who fulfils the Smart Energy Code Administrator and Secretariat (SECAS) contract, has worked with Gerald Edelman previously and can attest to the quality of service provided.
Shareholders were invited to submit their vote by 1pm on Thursday 16 December, and voted unanimously in favour of the change of auditor. The SECAS Finance team will therefore engage with Gerald Edelman to initiate the process, in advance of the audit being carried out in May 2022.
