Intimate Communications Hub Interface Specification (ICHIS) noise information hosted on the SEC website

20 November 2019

The Intimate Communications Hub Interface Specification (ICHIS) defines a common interface between DCC Communications Hubs and Smart Meters which will be deployed for the GB Smart Metering Implementation Programme. ICHIS, amongst other things, sets out RF emissions limits which are designed to prevent WAN performance from being adversely affected.

The DCC, with the support of transitional governance, has provided guidance and established a testing regime and temporary derogations from the limits, to facilitate the deployment of smart meters.

BEIS and DCC have requested that meter test result information can be hosted on the SEC website to allow:

• Suppliers (especially on Change of Supplier gain) to check the Noise Limit status of a Device Model; and
• Suppliers and Meter Asset Providers (MAP) to share the Noise Limit status of Device Model for which they are responsible.

Manufacturers can now submit details of their tested devices and Parties can access the submitted information on https://smartenergycodecompany.co.uk/ichis-noise/. You will need to be a registered user of the website to access these details.
