An updated version of the SEC came into effect on 27 February 2020 to implement three modifications as part of the February 2020 SEC Release.
What modifications were implemented?
This SEC Release implemented the following modifications:
- MP086 ‘Alt HAN Roll-Out Financing’
- MP091 ‘Updating Security Assurance Status’
- MP097 ‘Improving SMETS2 Meter Installs for New Connections’
What parts of the SEC were affected?
The following parts of the SEC have been updated:
- Section G ‘Security’
- Section Z ‘Alt HAN Arrangements’
- Appendix H ‘CH Handover Support Materials’

What else has been implemented as part of this release?
As part of this release, each SEC Section and Subsidiary Document has now been given their own individual version numbers, which will simplify the version control of the SEC going forward.
